17th July 2017

As you know it is 12 months today since our Founder, the lovely Úna lost her battle with the Cancer Dragon.

It hardly seems like yesterday since Úna was here with us sprinkling her Sparkle in all of our lives, each of us having our own special memories of those times.

Úna had immense vision and a determination to help others to be the best that they could be.

Her life touched so many people here in the UK and around the world, a respected teacher, Entrepreneur and lifelong campaigner of Women’s Rights and reducing inequalities however and wherever they occurred.

A lover of all things Westminster, politics, her trademark Dior red Lipstick, afternoon tea, her beloved Pink Shoe Club  and Fizz.

I personally will never forget our trips down to Westminster and our onboard transformations en route to many Pink Shoe Club events.

A true empathy who made everyone she came into contact with feel at ease and that they had an important role to play, usually followed by a plan on how they would do it.

So many of you have shared pictures and fond memories with us and today especially if you can please tweet to @couragensparkle any photos or memories you want to share of your times with Úna that you are happy to have on our website – www.courageandsparkle.co.uk

Today will be a particularly difficult time for Úna’s close friends and family, particulary Úna’s brother Sean and Beryl who Úna so often referred to as her adopted Mum.

Beryl has arranged a Mass which is taking place at Our Lady Help Of Christian’s Church to which you are all welcome.

One of the great things Úna wanted to do before she joined other angels in heaven was for the Foundation to host the Concert at St George’s Hall where I am sure you will agree, Úna really did SPARKLE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIkEnv3o48c this was a great success and very kindly Asa Murphy, one of the artists who entertained everyone that night will include a dedication to Una on his radio show on Sunday in the second hour of the show, 5-7pm BBC Radio Merseyside 95.8FM.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone as we remember Úna, each in our own special way.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam

My very best wishes
